statistischen Lebens“ handelt sich hierbei um ein Konzept, dass eben die monetäre
Bewertung von statistischen Leben ermöglichen soll.
Mittlerweile besitzen solche ökonomischen Kosten-Nutzen Analysen, die sich auf
die Bewertung des menschlichen Lebens mittels dieses Konzeptes stützen, in
vielen Staaten Praxisrelevanz. In den folgenden Kapiteln werden Zusammenhänge rund um das Konzept „Wert
des statistischen Lebens“ dargestellt: Ausgehend von einer theoretischen
Erläuterung des „Wert eines statistischen Lebens“ sollen aktuelle
Untersuchungsergebnisse vorgestellt und neuere Entwicklungen der Disziplin
aufgezeigt werden. Dabei wird mit Bezug auf den Titel dieser Arbeit auch auf die
Frage einzugehen sein, ob im Kontext des Wertes eines statistischen Lebens arme
Menschen weniger wert sind als reiche Menschen.
Die folgende Betrachtung des Konzeptes „Wert eines statistischen Lebens“ nimmt
eine rein immanente Perspektive ein, und diskutiert nicht, ob die
Schlussfolgerungen dieser Theorie, bzw. diese selber mit den moralischen und
verfassungsmäßigen Grundsätzen unserer Gesellschaft evtl. in Konflikt stehen.
