Mardi, 8 novembre. Il neige sur mon cœur comme il neige sur la ville, aurait pu écrire le poète.
Son cœur, à elle, en rougit de plaisir, au suint tiède de l'épais manteau de fourrure acheté début octobre en prévision de la longue froidure hivernale annoncée; secondé par une paire de poumons performants qui n'ont connu que la fumée odorante des civets préparés par Gisèle, la gouvernante de toujours, il pompe l'air du temps de saison et s'imprègne de cette lumière si particulière que distillent les pluies de pixels cotonneux…
