In dieser Seminararbeit wird das Thema der Stadtentwicklung in Spanien bearbeitet. Das vorgegebene Thema ist ,,Städtesysteme und Stadtentwicklung der iberischen Halbinsel“. Die Konzentration dieser Arbeit liegt hierbei auf der Stadtentwicklung, das Thema der Städtesysteme wird hierbei aus der Analyse ausgenommen, da sich dieses nicht nahtlos in die Fragestellung einfügt. In dieser Seminararbeit spezialisiere ich mich auf Spanien und seine Stadtentwicklung von der Römerzeit bis heute. Hierbei wird darauf verzichtet, diese Entwicklung rein deskriptiv wiederzugeben. Stattdessen sollen durch einen Vergleich mit Mitteleuropa, hier wenn möglich auch Deutschland, die kulturraumspezifischen Einflussfaktoren auf die Stadtentwicklung Spaniens herausgearbeitet werden. Die Stadtentwicklung wird entlang der Reihenfolge der zeitlichen Gegebenheiten untersucht. Zu Anfang werden die Stadtentwicklung und die Stadtentwicklungsplanung definiert. In den weiteren Kapiteln wird ein grober Überblick über die Entwicklung der Stadt in Mitteleuropa gegeben. Daraufhin wird die Stadtentwicklung in Spanien beschrieben. Hierbei fließen Informationen über die politischen und bevölkerungsrelevanten Entwicklungen ein, weil diese die Stadtentwicklung prägen. Zum Schluss werden die kulturraumspezifischen Einflussfaktoren auf Spaniens Stadtentwicklung herausgestellt.
